Big News!

Life has been busy, of course, as you can imagine, so we are a little late to share some big news for our family.

Our House is Sold!

We put it up for sale in the fall, bracing ourselves for a long haul. Hoping for the best, but planning for the worst… There were a few things going against us:

1. It’s a bad time of year to sell a house- Fall going into winter is not a desirable time of year to sell, as up in the Adirondacks it is a second home/vacation home area and people tend to buy in the spring and summertime.

2. The market is not good right now for houses in our price range- Some homes have been sitting for sale on the market for months and even years before they move for much less than the asking price.

We also had a few things going in our favor:

1. We serve a Big God!

2. Many people were praying!

3. We were praying specifically that it would be sold by the end of the year.

Well, much to our surprise (but not God’s), we showed it to a local family one week after we posted it by-owner. They loved it, came to us with an offer and we accepted. It was right in our comfort zone on price, too.

Just recently, the house ‘closed’ and we can all breath a big sigh of relief. It was a big and difficult decision to sell, but it was the right decision. God keeps confirming for us in big and little ways that this is His path for us.

Funny story, once I posted it for sale, I also hopped on Amazon to buy a For Sale sign. I mistakenly bought a sign that came through some very slow shipping means… So by the time we received the sign in the mail, it was too late! The house was already under contract!
