Packing up the dreams…

We packed up our house and moved out almost everything the weekend after Thanksgiving. It’s weird to live in a mostly empty house. The kids love it, they enjoy having tons of dance floor space and it is a little easier to keep the house clean since there’s nothing left:)
I was talking to Joanna and the ‘moving out’ thing hasn’t really hit us yet even though our house is barren. I think it is because the house, being empty of stuff, it is still full of life. We are still there, the kids are still there and that is our home. The decorations are gone, but the personality is still alive. That sense of home will go with us wherever we are.
It just goes to show the difference between house and home.
I’m sure the absence of a house will hit us eventually, and when it does, we will just need to ‘home’ our feelings and know that our family is not defined by a temporal structure, but by our faith and our family.
