Why RV?

God has provided an RV for us to travel and live out of as we raise support. Read about the answered prayer in our last post.

Why are we doing this? I’m glad you asked…others have wondered the same thing and we want to answer the questions!

  1. Why RV?– When we first decided to head into missions, we knew that it involved raising our own support and our network of friends, family and churches are scattered around the US, and our philosophy of support raising means to meet with them face to face. I was first joking with Joanna about getting an RV to do a long road trip with our family to meet our goals, but the more we talked about it, the more it seemed like a very practical solution for us as a family with small children. We can keep our family schedule, culture, home school, office, luggage and clothes all in one spot without living out of a suitcase for 6 months!

  2. Doesn’t that increase your costs? Yes and No. This increases our gas prices certainly, but keeps us from spending money on hotels and eating out. Besides, I see any extra cost as a well spent investment in my family’s sanity as we live a nomadic life!

  3. When you drive up to a church in that rig, doesn’t it seem like you’re not hurting for funds? It may seem that way, but ask us about how God provided this for us. It was huge answer to many specific prayers! We have set very ambitious goals for our support raising and timeline- 6 months! Many say this is crazy, especially for a family, but we believe with this machine we can shave months off of the typical time it takes to raise funds, all while keeping our family culture intact. This allows us to steward our time and get to the mission field even faster!
