Dr. Suess never used to bring me to tears, but the last page of “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket” gets me every time recently. I’m an avid reader of Dr. Suess since our kids are all at an age where they enjoy them. And to be honest, I’ve always been a big fan too since childhood. We’ve been collecting them passively over the years.
Even my childhood stuffed animal was a Cat in the Hat.
The book is about little imaginative creatures that live all over his house and how that makes the house special to him. Similarly, there are so many little customized aspects to our house that I hope the next owners appreciate as much as we do. But I do know they will enjoy the house. It’s a great house.
Knowing that we will be moving out in the next few weeks is a tough pill to swallow because so much our lives has been wrapped up in the identity of this place. But we can’t let a house be our identity, that’s not healthy.
It has been hard to start the packing process, but I have to constantly remind myself of what God has called us to, and THAT is exciting!
